Visiting NZ

What’s the weather like?
I guess I don’t know first-hand, except in December/January–the warmest time of the year there. Some have compared the climate of Wellington to that of San Fransisco. Doesn’t get too hot in the summer, and doesn’t get too cold in the winter (rarely snows in Wellington), but can be very windy/rainy!

Here are some more climate/weather details.

What time of year should I visit?

Well, January/December is a really nice time, but prices can be high around the holidays. Charles ranks months to visit as:

1. February

2. January

3. March

4. December

5. April

What is there to do when I get there?

Besides visiting us? A ton!

Around Wellington:

Over Christmas 2009, I got to see the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary in Wellington. We went during the day, but they offer night-time tours for kiwi-spotting, which I definitely want to do!

The natural history museum Te Papa is an awesome place to see the world’s largest colossal squid, and if you like museum stores as much as I do, they have a great one!
